Working it ALL out

So happy I am back to my routine of working it all out, my body, my brain and my face.

What is a livestream CoreBarreFit class?

The class targets all of your muscle groups, using your own body weight, resulting in lean legs, lifted glutes, flat abs, and improved strength and flexibility. Join a livestream barre class, taught live, through the Zoom app via your computer, tablet or smartphone. When you register for class they will send you a unique class link for that session. There are lots of options like CoreBarre, CoreBarreStretch and CoreBarreRestore. Leave me a comment or contact me if you want to try the class and I will take care of you.

Have you ever heard of FaceGym?

I tried a quick one at a local pop up.   It’s not a facial. It’s a workout for your face. Stretching, Warmup, Cardio, Sculpting and Cool Down. It was very different from a facial and it felt really good but a real workout for my face, if that makes sense. I am thinking about going to FaceGym and trying a full face workout. I love a good DIY.

I made these envelope liners for a “save the date”.  All I did was trace some wrapping paper with the template and glue it into the envelope. For the event invitation I am going to marbleize the liner paper. Find it here.

I wore a heart rate monitor this week . . .

to make sure I don’t have afib. It was a nonevent and I could even exercise, take a shower and swim with it. No holter, no electrodes. It was a small, wearable device that I forgot I was wearing.  If you ever need to wear a heart monitor, it seems like a great new option to talk to your doctor about. (Not an ad and this is not medical advice- just something cool to know about)

THIS book Called Outlive: The Science & Art of Longevity by Peter Attia is Fascinating.

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • A groundbreaking manifesto on living better and longer that challenges the conventional medical thinking on aging and reveals a new approach to preventing chronic disease and extending long-term health, from a visionary physician and leading longevity expert. Some of the reviews call the book one of the most important books you will ever read, and as I read it I can totally understand that sentiment. Buy it here.

Have you heard of the Mind Diet?

It includes leafy greens, vegetables, whole grains, beans, nuts, berries, poultry, fish, and olive oil. (very similar to a combo of the Mediterranean and DASH diets.)  and it supports long term brain health. I added white beans to this recipe and added some toasted pistachio nuts. It is really- really good!

Do you understand the importance of friends and socializing?

The other night I attended a neighbor’s 81st birthday celebration.  There were lots of fun, interesting and dynamic 80+ year old women who talked about their love for Pilates, their book clubs and socializing.

Can you do a plank?

Try one. They are one of the most important exercises you can do. Here is why.

Look for me next week: I am going to Stretch Lab, using my new Cricut Machine, jumping for joy, working on my posture and sharing a new hair product I am trying out.
